THE ISS SITE
The
school sits on a small plot of land in the Mont Fleuri district south of
Victoria. When the school was founded over 30 years ago, the site was
dominated by a large colonial-style house - this was the original school
building.
As
time has gone on, the school has expanded and new buildings have been
erected to provide extra teaching spaces and new facilities. Eventually
the old house was removed to make way for the modern, airy buildings
that now surround the playground. The result is a school that is
up-to-date, attractive and a pleasant environment in which to teach and
learn.

The Playground
This is the heart of the school. Surrounded on three sides by
classrooms, it is used for breaktime play, PE activities and
after-school clubs |

Junior Block and Secondary Extension
Our newest building
completed in 2006. The original Junior
Block remains as the ground floor, whilst new secondary
classrooms, a new IT room, and office space have been added above. |
 |
 |
The Mango Tree
This is the last remnant of the original school! It provides
shade (and juicy mangoes!) now, just as it did 30 years ago.
Notice also the three peaks of 'Trois Freres' in the
background. |
 |
 |
The 'New' Block
This building contains most of the Early Childhood section,
secondary classrooms, the Library, Sixth Form study rooms and
the hall (the large room to the right studded with small
coloured windows) |

Under the Mango Tree
A cool shady place to sit and chat with your friends |
 |
 |
The Admin Block
The school offices are located here as well as Science labs,
Art and humanities rooms and one of the IT rooms. |
 |
 |
Lunchtime
Students can get food and snacks from the Tuck Shop at breaks
and after school. They covered seating areas in which to eat
away from the midday sun. |
 |
 |
Playtime
Students from Juniors and Early Childhood (in green) mix and
play with Secondary students (in white).
Without exception, students at the ISS are helpful, friendly
and sociable. |

The 'Admin' Block
Again! |
 |
 |
Playhouse and Climbing Frames
Provided for the younger students to enjoy and shaded by a
large yellow coconut tree (the nuts are regularly harvested to
avoid any potential nut-on-head incidents!) |
 |
 |
The 'Gazebo'
Shaded seating for Secondary students is provided at the end
of the New Block. |
 |
 |
The Class in a Bus!
A novel way of increasing our teaching space, this retired
SPTC bus is the classroom for one of our extension classes.
The students love learning on a bus! |
 |
 |
The Play Area
As part of the acquisition of new land for car parking, we
grassed this area to provide a green and shady place for the
younger students to play. |
