Wow! What a busy month this
has been. The last few weeks of the school year have seen an amazing
number of exciting events...
| Flamenco |
 |
We were lucky enough to have flamenco dancer and teacher, Jacqui
Wilford and guitarist, Chris Mullett from
Flamenco Express
working with Junior, Secondary and Sixth Form students in the
final week of term. Amazing music, amazing dancing and amazing
teachers.
The students, over the course of four days, learnt
the basics of flamenco dancing, finishing off with performances
to the rest of the school, to parents and finally for national
television. They were superb.
Many thanks from the school to Jacqui and Chris

| Year 10 Trip to Praslin and La
Digue |
 |
With
the end of the Secondary section exams approaching, and because
Year 10 had not been on a school trip for quite a while, we
decided to organise a trip.
Mrs Kennedy used her amazing organising skills to put
together a great itinerary taking in the islands of Praslin and
La Digue.

| Year 2 Rockpool Study |
 |
Class
2 visited the beach at Mare Anglaise to study the animals and
shells in the rock pools there. It was a very low tide so we
were able to see many rare and unusual things which had been
exposed in the reef and in the pools.
The intrepid children of class 2 waded in the shallow water and
discovered many shells there were inhabited by snails or hermit
crabs.
We
found out we knew a lot about the reef animals and were excited
to see many creatures that we recognised.
We
all enjoyed our beach picnic and finished off our day out with a
sandcastle competition and a game of football to celebrate the
world cup!
As usual we had many parent helpers – thanks a lot to them for
transport and help on the beach

| Year 6's Amazing Shelters |
 |
In
Year Six one of our projects was to build a shelter for a
rainforest.
First we designed our shelter and wrote instructions of how to
build it. Secondly we built our shelters at home. Once our
shelters were constructed we evaluated our work. Finally we gave
a one minute talk to the class about our project.
