MAY 2006 NEWS
| 'Seychelles Through Little Eyes' Go
To Praslin |
 |
7.30
a.m., and we trudge slowly into the ISS car park with half of
our brains still in bed. And for a second, just a second, it
seems like ten year olds actually have a moment of slight calm.
It doesn’t last. After all we’re going to Praslin!
With everyone present, anticipation and excitement bubbling
just under the surface, we all got on board our respective
transports; a mini-van with Mr. Amelie and two taxis sponsored
by the school takes us to the not so easy to find IDC hangar.
And there, shining brilliantly on the tarmac is our plane.
Yes! Our plane! Thanks to Mr. Savy, the trip to Praslin takes
fifteen minutes which is spent staring at the stunning turquoise
sea, reminding us what we’re all doing here. Seychelles through
little eyes.

The Junior and Early Childhood School Council has just entered
into its second year.

Our New School Reps are:
- Year 2 - Keval Sakhida and Michelle Fock Tave
- Year 3 - Magdalena Flynn and Adam Moncherry
- Year 4 - Buddhima Hettiarachchi and Megan
Dooley
- Year 3/4 - Vatsala Chandel and Karen Doku
- Year 5 – Ameer Afif and Upeksha Hettiarachchi
- Year 6 – Vishal Shah and Steffi Morel
- Year 5/6 – Ashen Tennege and Vanya Creado
The aim of the School council is to give the children a say
in how we run their school.
Things the School council have done already:
- We have made rules for the Play House.
- We have changed the tuck shop menu by asking for less
chips and more fruit.
- We have introduced new ideas for Junior clubs.
- We have asked if we can change the colour of the uniform
in Juniors.
We are hoping to:
- Have some new toys for 'Late Class'
- Have extra time on the Jungle Gym
- Introduce 'Playground Monitors' / 'Prefects'
